King Nikola's Palace

King Nikola's Palace, whose original name is Vila Topolica, is one of the most beautiful and significant historic buildings in Bar. The palace was built in 1883 on the ruins of the villa of the last Turkish ruler of Bar, Selim-beg Mustafagić. Today the palace houses the Heritage Museum which preserves the original rooms and historical exhibits.

The complex includes the Grand Palace, the Small Palace, the Court Chapel and the Winter Garden — a gift from the Italian King Emanuel.

The palace is located on the King Nikola Promenade and is ideal for a seaside stroll.

💡 Visitor Tip

Admission €1 (children under 10, €0.50). In season open 9am–3pm and 5pm–11pm, off-season 9am–3pm. Best visited in the morning or early evening with a stroll along the seafront.
